A Broken Needle You Can't See: This Factory Checks Every Headband

The Problem

Hair accessories go through a lot of sewing. Stitching, embroidering, attaching the plush parts. All of it uses needles.

Needles break. It happens. A sewing machine needle snaps mid-stitch, and a small piece of steel stays inside the fabric.

You can't see it. Run your hand over it and you still can't feel it. But it's there.

And these are products people wear on their heads, close to their skin. Some are made for children. One broken needle in one headband is not a small problem.

What We Did

We installed a Yiwan 805 needle detector at the end of the production line.

The worker places each headband onto the green conveyor belt, one by one. The belt carries it into the detection tunnel.

The machine sends a magnetic field through the product — if there's any iron or steel inside, the machine knows.

How It Works on the Line

You can see it in the video:

The worker takes each piece from the bin and puts it on the belt
The headband moves into the tunnel — the check takes a second
Green light: clean, the product keeps moving to packing
Red light: metal detected — the machine stops and alerts, and that piece is pulled out

Every single piece gets checked. No spot checks, no "it's probably fine."

Why This Matters

If you export plush accessories, you already know: buyers check for needle control. Many won't even place an order unless you can show a needle detector on the line and the records to prove it's used.

A needle detector isn't just a safety machine. For this factory, it's the thing that keeps the orders coming.
